Young ladies have traveled from across New Mexico to compete in the Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant this week.
The pageant is part of Pioneer Days, and competitions have been scheduled thoughout the week. They will participate in a fashion show, and will be judged on speech, horsemanship, and rodeo knowledge.
Winners will be announced at the Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena on Saturday.

It’s just a great experience just to be able to do this. But winning it? You get to tour the state of New Mexico, learn more about the great sport of rodeo, meet new people along the way, and you get to teach the public about rodeo. That to me would be just wonderful.
What rule or law would you change?
Iwould want to be able to stay up later.

It would be an awesome opportunity to travel throughout the state, meet all different kinds of people, and have new experiences. Also, to be a positive role model for the younger kids, and get them more involved in the rodeo.

I would be stricter on DWIs.
