Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 4:30 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to the area of Commerce and Axtell streets for an intoxicated man.
Witnesses reported a man was walking in and out of traffic.
The officer found the man staggering down the road.
The man had difficulty standing or talking and was unable to give officers his address.
He was placed into protective custody at the jail, and officials disposed of two bottles of alcohol he was carrying.

About 7 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to an injured subject in a store parking lot in the 1300 block of North Prince St.
Witnesses said a man was working on his vehicle and when he applied jumper cables, the vehicle jumped forward and struck him in the legs.
The man received serious injury to his legs and was transported to a Lubbock hospital.
The man said he didn’t have insurance yet because he had just bought the vehicle.

Around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, an officer went to a residence in the 800 block of Manana Blvd. to serve an arrest warrant.
When the suspect answered the door, the officer told him he was there to arrest him, and the man slammed the door.
Another officer arrived and noted the suspect was running out the back of the house.
The officers chased and captured the man in another yard.

About 5 p.m. Tuesday, an officer responded to a home at an undisclosed location to conduct a K-9 narcotics search.
A woman said her husband had been arrested for domestic violence and she wanted the house and car searched for narcotics to ensure the safety of her children.
She told officers she believed he previously had cocaine and could not account for his pay check.
Officers searched and found cocaine residue in the man’s vehicle.
Officers are seeking an arrest warrant for possession of cocaine.

Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, an officer responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of Sheldon St.
When the officer arrived, a woman greeted him in the yard and said, “You can arrest me.”
The woman said she slapped her husband in the face when he yelled at her and got in her face.
The man confirmed the story.
The woman was arrested for battery on a household member.
