Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:


About 6 a.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to a fuel station in the 4000 block of Mabry Drive for a possible DWI.


A man was found sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.


The man said he was just trying to sleep and admitted he had some drinks at the bar a “while ago.”


The officer conducted a field sobriety test and arrested the man.


It was discovered the man had outstanding warrants and police found marijuana in his pants pocket.

Around 10 a.m. Monday an officer responded to a school in the 1900 block of Thornton for a report of marijuana at school.


A staff member heard from a student that another student had been smoking marijuana in the bathroom.


School officials searched a 17-year-old who was the last to be seen in the bathroom and found a baggie of marijuana, a pipe and lighters.


The student was suspended.

About 3 p.m. Monday an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Hondo for a report of a stolen firearm.


Prior to arriving the officer learned the victim possibly had an outstanding warrant.


The officer took a report on the 19-year-old’s stolen AK-47 rifle then arrested him on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

 About 4 p.m. Monday an officer responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Hondo for a fence on fire.


When the officer arrived, the fire department was extinguishing two fences in the back alley.


The officer interviewed several neighbors who gave descriptions of vehicles they saw in the area as well as pedestrians.


Fire officials listed the fire as suspicious.
