Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 2 p.m. April 10 an officer responded to a business in the 2500 block of Mabry Drive for a vehicle theft.
A manager said a man rented a car in December and had not returned it.
He said several unsuccessful attempts were made by phone and mail to reach the man and he was told he had moved out of his residence.
The officer obtained a warrant for the man’s arrest.

About 4 p.m. Friday an officer was called to a school in the 1900 block of Thornton for a report of enticement of a child.
A 15-year-old girl said she was walking on 17th Street after school and a man stopped beside her in a vehicle, asking if she wanted a ride.
She said when she told him no and walked away, he called her back to the car and exposed himself to her. He then drove away.
She gave the officer a description of the suspect.

About 11 p.m. Friday an officer responded to a shopping center in the 2000 block of Prince Street for an attempted robbery.
A woman said she was walking from one store to another when a man bumped into her and tried to steal her purse.
She said started screaming for help, struggled with the man and was pulled to the ground, but held on to the purse.
The man ran, jumping a fence and headed toward a residential neighborhood.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday an officer was dispatched to the hospital emergency room for a battery report.
A pregnant woman said she gave her former boyfriend a ride and stopped at her house.
She said he got mad and head-butted her. When she went to the bathroom to look at the wounds, he followed her and ripped the metal towel rack off the wall and started beating her with it.
The woman said he would not let her go to the hospital and forced her to drive him home to Texas.
She was treated for injuries to her head and arm.
The officer noted intent to seek an arrest warrant for the man.
