Power was out for 36 minutes across Portales on Friday morning.

 

Xcel Energy spokesman Wes Reeves said a piece of equipment that regulates voltage caused the problem.

 

Reeves said 5,301 customers were impacted by the outage.

 

Reeves said power went out at 9:10 a.m. and was restored at 9:46 a.m.
