ABILENE, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University athletes claimed six victories in Thursday’s McMurry Relays track meet.


Junior Kathick Srimanohan went 22 feet, 2 inches to win long jump, while junior Josh Browning took third at 21-7 1/2. Srimanohan also finished second in triple jump (41-10) behind ENMU senior Kyle Harris (47-10 1/2.


Sophomore Steven Aragon added a win for the Hounds in javelin at 191 feet, while senior Kennedy Baiywo took first in the 10,000 with a time of 36 minutes, 47 seconds.


Other top-three finishes for the Hounds included Nimrod Lelei, second in the 5,000 in 16:14.62; Mick Gerber, second in shot put; Dominic Pacheco, second in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:47.98; sophomore Jacob Jones, third in the 400 in 50.31 seconds; soplhomore Laine Fuller, third in the 800 in 2:05.06, and the 400 relay team, third in 43.23 seconds.


ENMU’s women captured a pair of 1-2 finishes. Senior Jasmine Sanchez won the 10,000 in 44:53.82 with freshman jerri Martin second in 46:19.07, while sophomore Diedra Brown took javelin competition at 128-11 1/2 with junior Hillary Chavez second at 107-9.


Other high finishes for the Zias were  by Krystal Becenti, second in the 5,000 in 22:32.78; Hannah Rhoten, third in long jump at 17-2 3/4, and the 1,600 relay team, tied for third with the University of Dallas in 4:22.32.


The Hounds and Zias return to action on April 12 at the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock.
