Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:


About 2 a.m. Saturday an officer was flagged down in the 1500 block of Mabry Drive.


The driver of a vehicle said one of his passengers had been injured by a beer bottle thrown into his window.


He said he had stopped to let another passenger get into the vehicle and three men walked up and threw a beer bottle at the car. He said the bottle shattered and the glass cut a male passenger in the head.


The officer noted the victim had lacerations to the back of his head.

About 9 a.m. Saturday an officer took a larceny report at a residence in the 3000 block of Nancy Lopez.


A man said he had discovered his .45 caliber handgun missing from his closet shelf.


He said he could not think of anyone who might have stolen it.

 About 4 p.m. Sunday an officer was called to the 300 block of W. Second Street for a public affray.


A woman told the officer she had watched her son’s boxing match and when he won she went up to hug him.


She said her son’s wife came up and pushed her, scratched her arm, and tried to get her to go outside to fight.


The officer explained how the woman could file charges in municipal court.

Around 6 p.m. Sunday an officer responded to a park on Mitchell Street for a grass fire.


The officer spoke with four juveniles, who said another kid had started the fire and they tried to put it out. When the fire got too big, they said they got scared and ran away.


The officer obtained witness statements and suspect descriptions.
