PLANO, Texas — Niki Cordova of Yucca Middle School  made 21-of-25 free throws Saturday to win the girls age 12-13 division of the Southwest Regional Hoop Shoot competition.

She advances to the national finals April 25-27 at Springfield, Mass., to compete with 11 other regional winners.

Cordova advanced to the regional free throw shooting event by winning a local competition sponsored by the Clovis-Portales Elk Lodge, and southeast New Mexico district and state competitions.
