Curry County agriculture extension agent Stan Jones reports a Curry County 4-H team finished fifth at two recent livestock judging competitions. The events were at Texas Tech and Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas.

Curry County team members are Lindsey Foote of Pleasant Hill, Trenton and Avery Jones of Broadview and Mitchell Pinnell of Texico.

Trenton Jones was the third high-point individual in both contests.

Texas Tech's meat animal evaluation team won its second consecutive national championship last week.

The team competed at the 2008 National Meat Animal Evaluation Contest held at the Oklahoma City Stockyards and Oklahoma State University, according to a Tech news release.

Grady's Jennifer Blackburn is a member of the team.
