Anniversary group sealing time capsule

CNJ staffMembers of the City of Clovis 100th anniversary committee will seal a time capsule at 2 p.m. Friday at the Clovis-Carver Public Library. The time capsule will stay closed for 50 years.
Mayor David Lansford, 27th Special Operations Wing Commander Col. Timothy Leahy and Raymond Mondragon, chairman of the 100th anniversary committee, will assist the Centennial Anniversary Committee in entombing the capsule.
The event is open to the public.
Among the items that will be placed in the capsule are a cell phone from Plateau Wireless, coins from the 27th Special Operations Wing and the Clovis 100-year anniversary, proclamations from the New Mexico House of Representatives and the governor, a book on the first 100 years of Clovis and several newspaper articles.
