Area rancher honored at Albuquerque gathering Curry County farmer and rancher Pat Woods was honored at the 90th annual meeting of the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau last month in Albuquerque. Woods served for a decade as president of the Curry County Farm and Livestock Bureau and continues to serve on the organization's board of directors. His cattle and farming operations include milo, wheat, grass and replacement dairy heifers. The New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau is the state's largest and oldest agricultural organization and has been the “voice of agriculture” in New Mexico since 1917. Portales dairy farmer represents DFA at meeting Dawn Idsinga, a dairy farmer from Portales, represented Dairy Farmers of America at a national education and leadership development conference held Nov. 12-14 in Orlando, Fla. Media training, dairy promotion and exports, farm succession planning, dairy legislation and other national dairy issues highlighted the meeting. Idsinga owns 2,100 cows with her three siblings, Dougie and Derek Idsinga and Darci Collins.
