Notes:The Greyhounds won their only home outing so far, beating New Mexico Highlands 86-67 on Nov. 20. The Aggies, meantime, won at Highlands 89-64 on Nov. 15. … ENMU took last year’s matchup 81-53 in Goodwell, Okla. … OPSU finished 7-20 last season, including 3-9 in the Heartland Conference, but the Aggies’ four leading scorers return this season in 6-foot-4 senior G LaChawn Anderson (17.6 ppg in 2006-07), 6-6 F Will Stephenson (12.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg), 6-7 senior F Fred Durr (11.0 ppg) and 6-4 junior F Luke Ogden (10.5 ppg). … The Aggies played competitively in weekend games at Colorado Springs, Colo., losing on Friday to host UC-Colorado Springs 88-81 and on Saturday to Adams State (coached by former ENMU assistant Mark Murdock) 84-78. Stephenson had 25 points and Anderson 21 against Colorado Springs, which overcame an 11-point deficit in the second half to win, while Anderson had 23 against Adams State, which survived 23 turnovers with the help of 65 percent field goal shooting (31-of-48). … The Hounds begin Lone Star Conference crossover play against North Division teams on Saturday, hosting Texas A&M-Commerce in a 4 p.m. tipoff. Women’s teams clash in the 2 p.m. opener.
