Samplings of recent reports filed by Clovis-area law enforcement officers: Around 5:30 p.m. an officer on patrol saw a suspect who had run from him before in the area of Mitchell and 11th streets. The officer turned back and talked to some men standing in the area who told him the suspect had run down the alley. The officer found the man hiding in a nearby storage shed and arrested him on an outstanding warrant. The man who told him the suspect had run off was also arrested for obstruction of a police officer. ********* About 6 p.m. Oct. 30 an officer responded to a business in the 400 block of West Seventh Street for a stolen vehicle report. A man said a customer’s vehicle had been taken from the parking lot. He said the vehicle was dropped off the day before for repairs and couldn’t be located the next morning. ********* About 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 an officer responded to a business in the 1500 block of Mabry Drive for a larceny report. A clerk said a man had pumped more than $40 worth of gas, gave him $10 and said he would be back to pay the rest later. The clerk said when eight hours passed without the man returning he decided to file a police report. ********* About 7 p.m. Oct. 31 an officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of North Prince Street for a report of larceny. A delivery person said a store sign had been stolen off the roof of his vehicle. The man said he came outside and saw a female with the sign under her arm get into a vehicle and drive away. The sign was valued around $90 and an estimated $800 in scratches were made on the vehicle’s roof. ********* Around 8 p.m. Oct. 31 an officer was called to the intersection of Jeannie Drive and Wrangler Way for a robbery. A woman told the officer someone stole candy from a child trick-or-treating with her family. She said the teen tackled the boy, took his candy bag, ran to a vehicle and left the area. ********* Around 8 p.m. Oct. 31 an officer responded to a home in the 900 block of Fourth Street for a report of criminal damage. A woman said someone threw three bricks through the window of a vehicle parked in front of her house and another through a window of the house. The damage was estimated over $300.
