Samplings of recent reports filed by Clovis-area law enforcement officers: Around 6 p.m. Oct. 24 an officer responded to a school in the 1900 block of Thornton Street to serve an arrest warrant. School officials escorted the student, a 15-year-old, to the officer and he was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. • • • About 10 a.m. Oct. 25 an officer responded to a home in the 500 block of Sheldon Street for an aggravated assault report. A man said he was outside talking to his neighbor when a man came from a nearby house and punched him in the face. He said they pushed each other and the man went into his house and came back with a fake black revolver. He said the man pointed the gun at him and went back inside. The officer examined the gun and determined it was not real. • • • About 9 a.m. Oct. 25 an officer responded to a business in the 1000 block of Norris for a breaking and entering. An employee said during the night someone damaged the fence, entered the yard and cut copper wire from a truck. Several brass items were also stolen from a truck, he said. • • • About 11 p.m. Oct. 25 an officer was called to Dennis Chavez Park for a criminal damage complaint. A couple was waiting with a person they said they caught after he threw a rock at their vehicle as they drove by. They said as they passed the park the rock came through the driver’s side window and then said they saw the suspect run away. They detained him while they waited for police. Another person told police the suspect had damaged their vehicle too. The 16-year-old was given a juvenile citation and turned over to a family member. • • • Around 5 p.m. Oct. 26 an officer responded to the area of 19th and Thornton Streets for a juvenile runaway. The officer noted the youth had fled from the custody of social services and left behind drawings and writings that he planned to kill several individuals. The 12-year-old resisted officers and told them he was not going back. He was taken to the juvenile detention center. • • • About 5 p.m. Oct. 26 an officer responded to the area of Vohs and Circle Drive for a hit and run. A 7-year-old told the officer a vehicle hit him as he was turning onto Circle Drive, knocking him over. The boy said he got up and rode his bike to a friend’s house.
