This spring’s wet and cool weather is expected to continue into the summer, according to a weather expert. As of Monday, the temperature has reached or exceeded June’s average high of 90 degrees five times — with four of those marks occurring last week, according to AccuWeather.com May was about the same with six days matching or exceeding the average high of 81 degrees, the Web site reported. AccuWeather.com senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said an unusually wet spring and the accompanying cloud cover have contributed to the cooler temperatures. The Clovis area has received 8 inches of rain since the beginning of March, according to AccuWeather.com, and the year-to-date total of 8.97 inches is more than 2 1/2 inches above normal. “I don’t see the pattern breaking any time soon,” Sosnowski said. “We still have the normal flux of Pacific moisture to look forward to in the mid- and second half of the summer.” June, July and August are normally the wettest months of the year.
