Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports: Around 3:30 p.m. Friday an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Axtell Street for a dispute over an animal. A woman told the officer a male neighbor who walks a pit bull in front of her home shoved her. She told the office the dog is vicious and has snapped at her grandchildren in the past. She said she had asked him not to walk the dog near them. The man told police the woman had come after him with a baseball bat. He said he didn’t remember shoving her. The woman told the officer she plans to file charges in municipal court. ********** About 8 p.m. Friday an officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Seventh and Hondo streets. The driver ignored the officer’s lights and sirens and, because of the time of day and it was in a residential area, the officer refrained from a high speed pursuit. The officer found the vehicle abandoned in an alley behind the 2,900 block of Caesar Chavez. The car was towed and the occupants could not be located. ********** Around 11 p.m. Friday officers were called to a home in the 2,000 block of Wallace for a domestic dispute. A man told the officers his 17-year-old son had come home drunk, and after eating dinner, started punching out windows. The officer noted the teen had blood on his hands. The youth was placed under arrest for resisting or evading a police officer and a minor allowing himself to be served alcohol. The father said he did not want to press charges for the damage to the house. ********** About 4:30 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to a business in the 100 block of Main Street in reference to threats. A manager told the officer one employee had threatened another. The officer talked with the man who had allegedly made the threats and noted he was acting jumpy. With consent to search, the officer found a syringe in the employee’s pocket that field tested positive for methamphetamine. The employee was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to jail. ********** Around 4 p.m. Saturday officers responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of La Fonda and Yucca streets. A woman told the officers she was driving through the intersection when a white car struck her. She said two black men got out of the other vehicle and came over to check on her. When she said she was OK, the men took off running. The officer noted the white car had just been reported stolen. The officers did not locate the suspects.
