City ministers were asking officials to prohibit Sunday picture shows. Rev. J.C. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist Church, said he’d rather “see a pool hall on every corner in Clovis operating six days during the week than to have one picture show operating seven.” … The Clovis Evening News-Journal reported Clovis police court did not have a single case the first half of June. … Wicks’ Modern Hatcheries had a big chick sale -- $24 per 100.
