LUBBOCK — Clovis High grad Joe Garcia, a junior safety on the Texas Tech football team, has been named All-Big 12 honorable mention in selections announced by the league office in Irving. Garcia was second on the team this season in tackles with 78, including 43 solo stops. He also had three tackles for loss, a pass interception, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles. Tech had one first-team selection — wide receiver Joel Filani — and two second-team choices — offensive tackle Glenn January and defensive end Keyunta Dawson. Garcia was one of nine Red Raiders to earn honorable mention.
