Zias sign El Paso center
Eastern New Mexico University has signed center Kristal Hill of Hanks High School in El Paso Texas, Zia basketball coach Linden Weese announced.
“Kristal brings a good power game to our program,” Weese said. “She should be a strong rebounder and scorer for us.”
Hill was an all-district selection three times and averaged 15.2 points and 11.1 rebounds as a senior.
Reid fourth at Sun Country
Travis Reid, a 2005 graduate of Clovis High School, is tied for fourth heading into the final day of the Sun Country amateur PGA championship, held at the University of New Mexico.
Reid shot a 71 for a two-day total of 143. He is seven shots behind leader Steve Saunders.
Guillermo Chavez, a fellow 2005 CHS alum, recovered from a rough first round and shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 148 after two rounds.
The final round begins today at 9:40 a.m.
