He is the son of Guy Smith of Colorado and Julie Abernathy of Clovis. The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. on June 3 at Kingswood Methodist Church, and a reception will follow the ceremony. The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Grady High School. She attends Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell. The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Clovis High School. He is employed at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. The ceremony and reception are open to friends and relatives.
