Domenici hires Texico intern A Texico High School graduate has been hired by U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici, R.-N.M., following his completion of a spring semester internship in the senator’s Washington, D.C. office, according to a press release from Domenici’s office. Jacob AlderseBaes of Clovis has joined Domenici’s staff as a staff assistant. During the internship, his assignments included media-related tasks, legislative research, constituent services, and work for Domenici’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee and Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee, the release said. AlderseBaes received a degree in criminal justice from New Mexico State University in 2005. This fall, he will pursue a master’s degree in defense and strategic studies at Missouri State University in Fairfax, Va., the release said. CCC recognizes 41 nursing grads Clovis Community College celebrated the graduation of 41 nurses last Wednesday, according to a press release from the college. Seventeen graduates received associate’s degrees in nursing and 24 received their certificates of completion in practical nursing in the class of 2006, the release said. Melrose teacher will be honored Melrose High School agriculture teacher Miles Mitchell was nominated as the mentor of Casey Estes, who was one of three New Mexicans to win the 2006 Presidential Scholar Award. Scholar awardees were told to name a teacher who had influenced them most as their mentor. Mitchell will travel to Washington, D.C.. with Estes and will be recognized by President George W. Bush and his staff.
