The following is a report on Thursday’s Clovis City Commission meeting: Saying goodbye The Clovis City Commission recognized Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Duncan and Commissioner Catherine J. Haynes for their service. Fire safety Clovis Mayor David Lansford asked commissioners to consider banning sales of fireworks until it rains because of safety concerns. Fire Chief Ray Westerman said the burn ban is in force and has helped keep down the number of fires.
