Flossie Bowen Johnson, 97, of Clovis, died in Houston, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006. She was born April 21, 1908, in Hagerman to William Edwin and Louisa Henrietta Bowen. She lived most of her adult life in Clovis until she moved to Houston in 1996 to be near her daughter, Norma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Patterson; her son, Robert Ira; and seven brothers and sisters including her twin sister Flora Barnett. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Louise Mosley (and husband Joe T.) of Houston; daughter-in-law Dorothy Johnson of Clovis; grandson Robert “Skip” Johnson; granddaughter Kathryn Tompkins (Kenneth) of Plano, Texas; granddaughter Nancy Harrell (Dennis); great-grandchildren: Joel, Elsie and Michael of Katy, Texas; and other relatives and friends. Family members said she was a fine Christian woman with a wonderful sense of humor and a servant’s heart. She loved to garden, sew and cook. Her home was often the center for family get-togethers and special occasions. She was an active member of Central Christian Church where her husband was an elder. In her earlier years, she served as Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Melrose where she was a 50-year member. Services have been held. Arrangements are by Aldine Funeral Chapel, Houston.
