RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico senior right-hander Trevor Davis has been named the Lone Star Conference South Division’s pitcher of the week after posting two wins in the Greyhounds’ first four games. Davis won in relief at Sul Ross State on Feb. 5, throwing the final 1 2/3 innings of a 9-6 win. He then pitched six innings in Sunday’s 18-2 rout of Colorado School of Mines at Greyhound Field, allowing five hits and two runs — one earned — with six strikeouts and no walks. Senior first baseman Mark Wallace was among LSC players recognized for their offensive achievements. Wallace, from Alamogordo, collected six hits in 11 at bats in ENMU’s first four games with three runs scored and four driven in. The Hounds (3-1) are slated to host 1 p.m. Lone Star Conference crossover doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday against Central Oklahoma.
