Velma Jane Gresham Services: Have been held. Velma Jane Gresham, 90, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, in Amarillo. She was born on June 14, 1914, in Bryce, Texas. She attended school in Richland. She married J.E. (Dick) Gresham in Portales on March 8, 1932. They moved to California in 1939 and then came back to Portales and lived there until moving to Amarillo in 1962. They then moved to Roswell upon retirement where she continued to live. She spent most of her life working at cafes, factories, farming with her husband and caring for her children and grandchildren. Family members said she was a very special devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Clark Eugene Gresham; two sons-in-law, J.C. (Pete) Bouldin and Donald Meredith; a grandson, Scott Gresham; an infant great-granddaughter; three sisters, Lorene Bowers, Gladys Pruett and Geneva Moran; and four brothers, Marvin, Uel and Floyd Page and James Newland. Survivors include five daughters, Doris McCurdy (and husband, Dean), Janet Carter (Mickey), all of Amarillo, Jean Meredith of Lubbock, Charlene Bouldin of Portales and Darlene Liveoak (Kenneth) of Phoenix; two sons, Jim Gresham (Rosemary) of Fritch, Texas, and Rodney Gresham (Janice) of Jefferson, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
