Bess Judah Services: Have been held. Mrs. Bess M. Judah, 93, of Clovis, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Manor Care Vista Camino Nursing Center in Albuquerque. She was born on Sept. 26, 1911, in Slaton, Texas, to Charles and Ida Clause Burk. She married Ernest Lee Judah on March 15, 1497, in Clovis. She worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a clerk. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, and Past Advisor for Rainbow Girls. She was active in a bowling league and worked with handicapped and disabled young people in Clovis to help them bowl. Family members said her Christmas tree was well known in this area, and she wrote poems and called them rhymes of a lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a step-daughter, Frankie Luna; and two sisters, Essie Jourdan and Mary J. Berry. Survivors include a brother, Billy D. Burk (and wife, Sandra) of Rome, Ga.; two step-daughters, Wanda Weiland (Lynn) and Jackie Havo (Vern), all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
