Irene Bass Services: Have been held. Mrs. Irene Craft Bass, 95, of Clovis, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born on June 11, 1909, in Danville, Va., to William and Nannie McDowell Craft. She married Marion Curtis Bass in March of 1936 in Danville, Va. She was a high school graduate and worked for Waddle Printing Co. until their merger with the Rexan Corp. After the merger she was transferred to Charlotte, N.C., and worked for Rexan as a secretary until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years and held many offices in the Danville Chapter region and in Virginia. She was active in church and was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Charlotte, N.C. ,and a member of Circles in the Methodist Church in Virginia and North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Survivors include a daughter, Marion Irene Bass-Black (and husband, Donald Eugene); a granddaughter, Melissa Irene Kiehne (Jeffrey); a grandson, Clarence E. Black; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Irene Kiehne; a great-grandson, Donald Jaycee Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Rev. James Robbins will officiate the services. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 4, 2005, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Danville, Va. The Rev. Steve Vornov will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church, Coloquox Street and Berryman Avenue, Danville, Va. 24541. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
