Arthur Maize Services: Have been held. Mr. Arthur Maize, 74, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born on July 24, 1930, in Torrance County, to Robert Van and Sadie Maize. In 1950 he graduated from Clovis High School. He married Shirley Thomas on Nov. 1, 1953, in Clovis. During the Korean War, he served in the Navy. He was a train dispatcher for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired in 1992 after 40 years. Family members said he enjoyed hunting and working in his yard and he treasured his time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Nova Carlton, Francis Wright, Nettie Griffin and Lorene Maize; and a grandson, Bryan Strickland. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vicki Strickland (and husband, Steve), K’Aun Hardin (Fred); three grandchildren, Steve and David Strickland and Michaela Hardin, all of Lubbock; a brother, Hugh Maize (Pauline) of Gettysburg, S.D. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
