Essie B. Thomas Services: Have been held. Essie B. Thomas, 75, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at her home. She was born on Dec. 25, 1929, in Prairie Hill, Texas, to Lando and Essie B. Jones Green. She was a cosmetologist and owned Essie’s Beauty Shop from 1962 to 1980, and assisted in home care for many years. She was a member of First Church of God in Christ serving as the Sunday school superintendent, and bible band teacher. Family members said she always tried to help others in the community and was very faithful and precise in everything she did. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Lee of New Carrollton, Md.; two sons, Dwight Wagner of Clovis, and Thomas Heyward of Los Lunas; two sisters, Mary Ransom, and Estine Garrett, both of Clovis; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 25 brothers and sisters. Bishop W. Charles Green will officiate the services. Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Pallbearers are Duane Thomas, Wilford Ramsom, R.L. Grimes, Manuel Perkins, Larry Jones, John Robert Mathews, and Leroy Green Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
