The Empty Stocking Fund is a joint effort of the Salvation Army and the Clovis News Journal and Portales News-Tribune. Donations are being accepted until Jan. 1 and help people with their utility bills. Donations can be dropped off at the CNJ or PNT, 521 Pile St. in Clovis or 101 E. First St. in Portales, or mailed to the CNJ, P.O. Box 1689, Clovis, NM 88101, or PNT at P.O. Box 848, Portales, NM 88103. Envelopes should be clearly marked “Empty Stocking Fund.” Contributions will be forwarded to the Salvation Army office, 317 E. Second St., Clovis.
