Mrs. Helen M. Brandon, 92, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on March 1, 1911, in Rogers, to James S. and Molly Alice Willis Fraser.
She attended school in Rogers, later moving to Amarillo. She married Merlin W. Brandon on Dec. 24, 1927, in Amarillo. They moved to New Mexico where they farmed the old home place. Family members said she worked at all the theaters in Clovis and drove a school bus in Curry County for 40 years without an accident. She was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school since she was 20.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Atha Howe, Mary Reed and Margorie Thomas; and a brother, James W. Fraser.
Survivors include three daughters, Naomi Williams (and husband, James) of Clovis, Merline Cook (Glenn) of Roswell and Jimmy Nell White (Joe) of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Tony Reynolds will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Fraser, Paul and Weldon Reed, Donald Ray Lewis, Bill Hodges and La Von Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Ray Williams and Roger Cook.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
