William Todd Shiplet Services: Have been held. William Todd Shiplet, 37, of Midland, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003. He was born on Dec. 22, 1965, in Hobbs, to Sandra and Bill Shiplet. He moved with his family to Midland in 1971. He graduated from Midland High School in 1984. He was best known for his athletic ability in football and basketball. Todd attended the University of Texas in Austin and Texas Tech University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was a supporter of the American Cancer Society through Round Up and a supporter of Hillcrest School through the Beach Ball Blast. He owned and operated S&S Equipment with his father. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Stanfield. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Diann Shiplet Hahn of Clovis; a nephew, Spencer Clay Hahn of Clovis; paternal grandparents, Josephine and Lem Shiplet of Clovis; maternal grandmother, Irene Stanfield of Clovis; and a godchild, Allison Bradlee Steward of Midland. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Pallbearers will be Steve Mills, Reece Boudreaux, Billy Joe and John B. Steward, Jimmy Essman and Vincent Brigham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Floyd, Mike Barton, Craig McDonnold, Earl Michie, Todd Greer, Bill Sr. and William Steward, Jeff Howes, Dan Carter, Steve Steen, Chuck Finley, Hal Rasmussen, Paul Fry, James Welborn, Nathan Pallanes, Lance Wright, Brian Carney, Tom Hill, David Nini, Wendall Iverson, Jimmy Crawford, Sam Lawson and Blake Bozeman.
