Managers' program arrives in Clovis
Published: Monday, October 13th, 2003
Representatives of cities around New Mexico will meet in Clovis Monday through Wednesday for the quarterly New Mexico Main Street managers training session.
Main Street is a statewide program, sponsored by the Economic Development Department, that concentrates on downtown revitalization and historic preservation, providing technical assistance for businesses locating within Main Street districts and for property owners seeking to renovate properties within the districts.
The theme of this week’s meeting is “Moving Forward With Main Street.”
“This is a prime opportunity for Clovis to showcase for other Main Street leaders from all over the state the attributes and possibilities that our downtown has to offer,” said Catharine Johnson, executive director of the Clovis Downtown Revitalization Program.
The Main Street managers will receive a guided tour of downtown Clovis and will attend a concert by the Eastern New Mexico University Jazztet in the Lyceum Theater, 411 North Main St. The concert is sponsored by the Clovis Community College Cultural Series.
