HOBBS — Clovis High’s boys earned their fourth leg toward state competition while the girls qualified for Class 5A state tournament with their third leg in the Hobbs Invitational golf tournament.

The Wildcats shot a team score of 313 to finish second, three strokes behind Roswell Goddard in a 10-school competition. Freshman Ethan Peterson led the Cats, shooting 37-39 — 76.

The Lady Wildcats finished fourth out of seven teams with a score of 384. Artesia took team honors at 352.

Kolby Rains posted the Lady Cats’ top score with an 87.
