Thursday’s Clovis High-Roswell softball doubleheader, which doubles as the team’s Striking Out Cancer fund-raiser, has been moved back one hour to 5 p.m. due to state testing.
Game tickets are $7 per person, with a free hamburger and bag of chips provided by event sponsors. T-shirts will also be on sale for $10. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society, and Clovis High coach Brandi Thomas said the funds wouuld be presented during the upcoming Relay for Life at Ned Houk Park.
This is the second year for the event. The inaugural Striking Out Cancer effort in 2008 raised about $2,000, and Thomas said the goal for this year is $3,000.
The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, but postponed due to high winds.
