Notes: The Coyotes are coming off a 72-58 pasting of Artesia in their District 4-4A opener on Tuesday at home. Peralta led four Coyotes in double figures with 22 points, while Olesinski scored 11 of his 13 in the second half. … The Coyotes were ranked No. 2 in Class 4A earlier in the season. They endured a three-game losing streak in mid-January, but have since won three in a row and six of seven. … One of their losses was a 53-52 setback at Portales on Jan. 30. … Clovis defeated Carlsbad 70-55 at home on Tuesday in District 4-5A. … Wildcats coach J.D. Isler is hoping his team can get on a streak with tournament time drawing near. “It’s a huge game for us,” he said. “We need another win on our record for seeding purposes.”
