MELROSE — Top-ranked Mountainair spotted Melrose a 8-0 lead before rallying for a 22-8 win Friday in an 8-man foorball semifinal game. The top-ranked Mustangs (11-0) outscored Melrose 14-0 in the second half. The Buffaloes finish the season 8-4. Mathew Chavez threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Ruben Cisneros with less than two minutes left in second quarter as Mountainair and Melrose at tied at 8-8 at halftime. After a scoreless first quarter, Melrose's Adam Hairgrove raced 92 yards for a touchdown to give the Buffaloes the early lead.
