Clovis dairy farmers Andle and Sjierkje van der Ploeg and family will soon open a yogurt manufacturing facility at Mid Frisian Dairy in Clovis, according to a press release from the Clovis Industrial Development Corp.

The van der Ploegs will make “Freanna Original Yoghurt” using a family recipe and milk fresh from their dairy.

“The idea to make and put Freanna yoghurt on the market came to us when we realized we couldn’t purchase yoghurt in the states that tasted similar to what we had been making and eating in western Europe,” Andle van der Ploeg said in the press release.

A groundbreaking for the facility will take place 2 p.m. Friday at the dairy.
