Teacher of year nominations open

Clovis Municipal Schools is accepting nominations for teacher of the year and support staff of the year for 2012-2013, according to a news release from Clovis Municipal Schools central office.

According to the news release:

• Any Clovis Schools’ employee, parent, student or community member can make nominations.

• Nomination forms are available at clovisschools.org.

• Nomination forms can also be picked up at the human resources office, 1009 Main St.

• Deadline to submit forms to human resources office is March 30.

• Questions can be directed to Joe Strickland at 769-4322.

 

Clovis High student honored

Clovis High School student Bailie Phillips received the 2012 Future Educators Association national leadership award, according to a news release from Clovis Municipal Schools central office.

According to the news release:

• Phillips was nationally recognized as a leader in her community, school and church. She is the first Clovis High FEA member to receive this award.

• Students from Clovis High’s Future Educators Association chapter attended the National Future Educators Conference Feb. 16-19 in Baltimore.

 

CCC specialist certified

Clovis Community College adult basic education data specialist Adriana Ramirez became certified Feb. 7 as a Harvard ManageMentor, according to a news release from Clovis Community College.

According to the news release:

• Ramirez’s certification required eight months of study including 44 Internet-based learning modules.

• Ramirez has worked as an adult basic education data specialist at CCC for nearly two years.

• She also teaches English as a second language and Spanish GED classes.
