ALLEN, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University senior guard Reggie Nelson was chosen to the All-Lone Star Conference men’s first team on Tuesday night at the LSC pre-tournament awards banquet.
Nelson, who did not play last year, was an honorable mention All-LSC South choice in 2009-10. He ranks second in the league in scoring (16.2 ppg) and free throw shooting (86 percent), and leads the conference in 3-point shooting (44 percent).
Senior center Curtis Wilkinson was a second-team choice for the Hounds, who face West Texas A&M in a quarterfinal game today, while sophomore guard Kyle Lantz was chosen to the LSC all-academic team.
For the Zias, senior forward Precious Herrin was a second-team all-conference choice. Herrin ranks second in the league in scoring (16.1 ppg), field goal shooting (53 percent) and blocked shots (2.3 bpg).
The Zias face Tarleton State in a women’s quarterfinal matchup on Thursday night.
