A train derailed at the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Clovis yard Monday morning sending 10 cars off the track, according to Joe Faust, spokesperson for BNSF. Faust said no injuries or spills were reported.
According to Faust:
• Four cars derailed upright.
• Six derailed on the side.
• The derailment impacted 11 trains. Six were eastbound and five were westbound.
• The derailment did not block the main traffic but blocked east-westbound arrivals into the yard.
Faust said BNSF is working with the heavy equipment company Hulcher to create options. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
