The Running Water Draw Cowboy Symposium is a three-day festival celebrating the chuck wagon era, with period events, demonstrations, and activities.
Activities include a chuck wagon cook-off, concerts, demonstrations, a trail ride, kid’s rodeo, horseshoe pitching contest, dance, and cowboy church on Sunday.
Local entertainers Allie Brooks, Sharon Dicton, Jimmie Joe Jester and poets Doc. Les Morrow and David Downey – are scheduled to perform throughout the day, along with many other well known performers.
According to organizers the event is the first of what is hoped to become an annual event.
“People can come and see what it was like to live back then,” event organizer Annette Taylor said. “There are a lot of awesome events to enjoy.”
