The Clovis News-Journal reported that Dr. Lynn Abshere, the only obstetrician and gynecologist in Clovis, would be leaving soon and there would be no one immediately available to replace him. ... Several students from Clovis High School offered to pay the expense of cleaning a six foot-tall eagle that stood in front of Hobbs High School. The eagle had been painted Clovis Wildcat purple at the previous Friday’s football game. The offer was declined by Hobbs High School Principal Virgil Welch. ... Fred McGinnis, 1315 Main St., claimed in an advertisement to offer competitive rates for homeowner’s insurance.
