Pearl Cervantez, 88, of Bovina died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in Amarillo. She was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Tucumcari to Sugundo and Lala Hernandez Brito. She married George Cervantez in 1940 in Bovina. She was a former coordinator of the Indigent Care Program at Parmer County Community Hospital in Friona, a homemaker and a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina, where she was a Guadalupana member. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Gene Brito; and two sisters, Matilda Baca and Mary Rose Martinez. Survivors include her husband of Amarillo; a son, Danny Brito of Amarillo; four sisters, Lucy Everett of Earth, Texas, Marie Cervantez and Elizabeth Sena, both of Clovis, and Donna Dominguez of Portales; a brother, Joe Brito of Ribera; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Father Jose Luis Chavez-Lopez is officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
