Bernice Neely, 77, of Clovis died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born April 30, 1929, in Kiel, Wis., to August and Rose Kenier Hanke.
She was a longtime resident of Clovis. She married David H. Neely on Aug. 28, 1964, in Fort Sumner. She worked at Wal-Mart for many years before retiring in 1999.
Family members said she enjoyed playing bingo, doing handcrafts and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who died in 1998; brothers, Melvin Hanke and Orville Hanke; sisters, Alice Gau and Lucille Stumpges; and grandson, Tony Gonzales.
Survivors include her sons, Joe Parie of Portales and Mark Parie (and wife, Peggy) of Horn Lake, Miss.; daughter, Pam Shoemate (Randy) of Ponder, Texas; sisters, Laverne Nourigat of Frostproof, Fla., and Eileen Stemper of Sheboygan, Wis.; nine grandchildren, August Parie, John Parie, Mark Parie, Christina Parie, David Reid, Tina Reid, Josh Shoemate, Jacob Shoemate and Jade Wilson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Randy Shoemate will officiate services.
Inurnment will be at Portales Cemetery in Portales.
