Fred Schaap, 74, of Farwell died Thursday, April 27, at Farwell Convalescent Center. Mr. Schaap was born March 8, 1932, in Terkaple, Fr., Netherlands. He immigrated to the United States on March 31, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Ids S. Schaap. Survivors include two sisters, Jennie (and husband Louie) Sytsma of Lynden, Wash., and Mary (Hugo) Goedhart, of Jerome, Idaho; two brothers, Andy (Ria) Schaap, of Clovis; and Richard Schaap of Portales; and several nieces and nephews. Entombment will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, Calif. Pallbearers are Eddie Schaap, Arthur Schaap, Ronald Schaap and Andy William Schaap. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Sytsma, Eddy Sytsma, Willie Sytsma, Fred Sytsma, Jerry Goedhart, John Schaap, Tom Schaap, Rick Schaap, and Brian Schaap The family asks memorial contributions be made to Clovis Christian School Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
