A local man identified as 62 year-old Raymond Villa was robbed at gunpoint of jewelry and his 60” television last night at approximately 11:45 pm in the 700 block of Hondo Street in Clovis.

Mr. Villa stated that three Hispanic males wearing bandanas over their faces forced their way into his house and into his bedroom.

Mr. Villa stated that one of the men pointed an assault style rifle into his forehead and told him to get on the floor of the bedroom and not look at them.

One of the men was also armed with an aluminum bat. Mr. Villa stated that one of the men took his gold Seiko watch and gold colored ring from his hand and wrist.

Mr. Villa stated that the suspects had told him not to move or call police or they would come back and kill him. Mr. Villa stated that he remained on the bedroom floor until he heard the men leave and heard a vehicle start outside and drive away. Mr. Villa stated he then got up and called police.

Once he got up and went into the living room, Mr. Villa discovered that his 60” flat screen television, his leather jacket and a Japanese style Katana sword had also been stolen. Mr. Villa was not seriously harmed in the incident.  

Clovis Police arrived on-scene within a few minutes of the 911 call and began searching the area for the described suspects.

A Clovis Police Officer in the area responding to the call saw a maroon Nissan Maxima run a stop sign at MLK and Cesar Chavez coming from the area about a half mile from the scene. The Officer followed the car to the 900 block of Cypress Street where the vehicle stopped and several subjects ran from the vehicle.

Two of the subjects from the car were captured by Clovis Police. The two men, identified as 22 year-old Marco Rivera and 22 year-old Leeroy Martinez of Clovis, were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Conspiracy To Commit Armed Robbery and Conspiracy To Commit Aggravated Burglary; second and third degree felonies respectively.

Some of the stolen items were recovered from the suspects and the aluminum bat and an air-soft assault style rifle were recovered from the suspect vehicle. Detectives are working to identify the other suspects that fled the vehicle.

This case is under active investigation at this time.
