Area road construction and closure information for this week:

Curry County

Curry County continues to patch potholes on roads throughout the county. Grading and renovation will start on Curry Road A from Curry Road 12 and Curry Road 13 in Melrose this week.

Beginning Monday, Wilhite Road will be closed between Prince Street and north Thornton Street (Curry Road K) for about two weeks, according to roadbuilders K. Barnett & Sons.

The road will be closed to all through traffic while crews complete road and drainage improvement.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

State and Federal

Constructors Inc. has suspended all work on First and Second streets in Portales due to cold weather conditions and will be resuming on March 4.
