Area road construction and closure information for this week:

Curry County

• Curry County continues to patch potholes on roads throughout the county. Grading and renovation will start on Curry Road AI from Curry Road 12 and Curry Road 13 in Melrose this week. Please, be aware of workers and posted speed limit signs.

• As of Friday, Wilhite Road is closed from N. Prince St. (NM 209) to County Road L. In addition, North Thornton Street is closed between Llano Estacado and Curry Rd. 14, according to roadbuilders K. Barnett & Sons.

There will be no access through these roads for approximately two weeks to all through traffic while crews complete road and drainage improvement.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

State and Federal

• Constructors Inc. has suspended all work on First and Second streets in Portales due to cold weather conditions and will be resuming on March 4.
