The Small Business Development Center’s first workshop for entrepreneurs features radio and TV personality Pamela Atherton.
Called “Come Together: Communicating Effectively with People ... Older, Younger, or a different Gender,” the workshop is 9 a.m. until noon Feb. 27 at the Business Enterprise Center, 105 E. Grand Ave.
This event is the first in a series of four Business Success Workshops given by Atherton. Tentative dates for future workshops include April 24 and Sept. 25, according to Sandra Taylor Sawyer, director of the Small Business Development Center.
Atherton said the focus of the workshop is discovering strategies and developing communication skills across generational and gender gaps. It will also be a custom workshop where attendees can bring real issues from their own places of employment and find solutions.
Sawyer and Atherton are hoping those in attendance will come away with a better understanding of the different generations, their values, and their communication.
“What you take away will also benefit your personal and social life as well,” Atherton said.
Small business owners are encouraged but the workshop is open to anyone who would like to improve their communication skills.
The workshop is free for members of the Clovis Curry Chamber of Commerce and $30 for non-members. To register visit the Clovis Community College Small Business Development Center’s website at http://www.clovis.edu/Type2.asp?pageid=w2sbdc
